Congratulations to Dr Emily Lelliot on being awarded the Morgan Mansell Prize for the Young Victorian Melanoma Researcher of the Year for 2020. Dr Lelliot’s research entitled “Examining the effects of targeted therapies on anti-tumor immunity in melanoma” shows some exciting findings; and due to her and other talented young Aussie researchers – we are edging just that little bit closer to improving survival rates and ultimately a cure for melanoma (the most common cancer in young Aussies aged between 15-39). Many thanks to Melanoma Research Victoria (a collaborative research project for a melanoma cure involving the Alfred, Peter Mac and ONJ Hospitals) and in particular Professors Mark Shackleton, Victoria Mar and Grant McArthur and all the other medical professionals involved in adjudicating this award.
